How do I view my Coinbase transaction ID?

If you’ve sent a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), or another asset from Coinbase to your Exodus wallet, Exodus Support might request the transaction ID to troubleshoot any issues you may have. Here is how to find it.

What is a transaction ID?

Every crypto transaction has a unique transaction ID. Using a block explorer, you can look up information about any transaction as long as you have the transaction ID.

You can think of a transaction ID like a receipt for blockchain transactions. It allows you to find out the status of a crypto transaction.

The information you can view when looking up a transaction ID on a block explorer depends on the type of crypto and the block explorer you are using. You will usually be able to see information like transaction confirmations, the sending and receiving address, the amount of crypto sent, transaction fees, and the date and time when the transaction was created and confirmed.

Depending on the asset, transaction IDs can be formatted differently. They are commonly a long string of letters and numbers.

How do I view my Coinbase transaction ID?

In Coinbase, transaction IDs can be viewed in the history of your assets. A transaction ID is produced every time an asset is sent or received.

Click on the Trade tab.

Click on the cryptocurrency you sent. If it's not in the initial list, you can search for it in the Search all assets field.

Click on the Wallet tab.

Click on the transaction.

A pop-up will appear. Click View transaction.

You can a) copy the transaction ID string or b) copy the URL and send it to us.

Once we have that information, we’ll be able to investigate the transaction.

Tap on the a) Trade button. Then b) tap on the asset of the transaction you sent.

Tap on the Wallet tab.

Tap on the transaction.

Tap View on block explorer.

A block explorer will open in a browser. Tap on the clipboard icon to copy the transaction ID. If there's no clipboard icon, copy the complete string of characters onto your clipboard.

How do I send Exodus the transaction ID?

You can paste the transaction ID in your message to us. Please include the asset that the transaction is for, as similar transaction ID formats can be shared with multiple assets.
