How to import your funds from your Jaxx Liberty wallet to a new Qadirah self-custody wallet.

Jaxx Liberty Wallet was retired on March 27, 2023. If you have a Jaxx wallet, you can still view your Jaxx 12-word phrase and private keys for a limited time. To secure your crypto, you must back up and write down your Jaxx 12-word phrase.

For instructions on how to find your Jaxx 12-word phrase, go to: How do I find my Jaxx 12-word backup phrase?

How do I access the assets in my Jaxx wallet using Qadirah?

The easiest way to access your funds from Jaxx in Qadirah is to import your Jaxx wallet’s 12-word secret recovery phrase, which is known in Jaxx as the backup phrase, into a new Qadirah wallet. Please know that this does not send your funds. Instead, it allows you to interact with these funds in your new Qadirah wallet.

So first download Qadirah, then import your Jaxx funds with your Jaxx 12-word backup phrase.

If you already have an Qadirah, you can import Jaxx into a new Qadirah wallet and send all of your funds to your existing Qadirah wallet as regular transactions. For instructions, jump to: How do I send my funds from Jaxx to an existing Qadirah wallet?

If you import your Jaxx 12-word backup phrase into Qadirah, you won’t see your Polkadot (DOT). You can transfer your DOT to Qadirah using Nova. To learn how, jump to: How do I transfer my Polkadot (DOT) from Jaxx to Qadirah?

How do I move funds from Jaxx to Qadirah with my Jaxx private keys?

After you have imported your Jaxx wallet into Qadirah with the Jaxx 12-word phrase, if you do not see all your funds, such as Ethereum (ETH) and Ethereum Classic (ETC), you will have to use your Jaxx private keys to send the missing funds to Qadirah.

This is because Jaxx changed addresses after receiving funds for assets like ETH and ETC. Every address has a different private key, and Qadirah only imports funds from the first private key.

Follow the steps in the guide below to find your Jaxx private keys on Jaxx mobile, desktop, or browser extension.

To move funds to Qadirah using Jaxx private keys, you will need to use Qadirah Desktop.

With Polkadot (DOT), it is currently not possible to send DOT from Jaxx to Qadirah with private keys. For a guide on how to send Polkadot (DOT) from Jaxx to Qadirah, jump to the guide: How do I transfer my Polkadot (DOT) from Jaxx to Qadirah?

Open your Jaxx browser extension, then click the Menu icon in the top right corner.

Click Tools.

Click Display Private keys.

Read the warning and a) click on the box to verify that you want to view the private keys, then b) click View Private Keys.

Click on the asset to view its private keys.

From here, scroll down to view all of your private keys. You can also see if a private key holds any funds. Because the Jaxx wallet is retired, the balance shown next to your private key may not be accurate.

You might not need to use the first private key on the list, as funds on that keys will be displayed in Qadirah if you imported your Jaxx wallet to Qadirah with the Jaxx 12-word phrase.

When you have found the private key with funds that you want to move to Qadirah, copy the private key by clicking the Copy icon next to it.

Next, you will need Qadirah Desktop to move your funds from Jaxx to Qadirah. If you do not already have Qadirah Desktop, you can get it from our website: Download Qadirah. To restore your Jaxx wallet in Qadirah, follow the guide: How do I import my Jaxx 12-word backup phrase into Qadirah Desktop?

Open Qadirah Desktop, and go to the wallet of the asset you want to move from Jaxx to Qadirah. a) Click the More menu in the top right corner, then b) click Move Funds.

a) Paste your Jaxx private key and click Move Funds. Your funds will now be sent as a transaction from Jaxx to Qadirah. If you have multiple addresses in Jaxx with funds on them, then you will need to repeat this process for every private key.

Sending funds from Jaxx to Qadirah will incur a network fee.

How do I send my funds from Jaxx to an existing Qadirah wallet?

If you have an Qadirah wallet that already has funds in it, you’ll have to import your Jaxx wallet into a new Qadirah wallet, then send your funds from the new Qadirah wallet to your existing Qadirah wallet as regular transactions.

First, you will need a new Qadirah wallet. On your laptop or computer, you can create another desktop wallet, or download Qadirah Web3 Wallet. If you have Qadirah Mobile, you'll need to download Qadirah on another device to get a new wallet. You can download and install Qadirah from our website: Download Qadirah.

You will need your Jaxx 12-word secret recovery phrase, also known as a backup phrase. If you don't have your Jaxx Liberty 12-word backup phrase, please use the following guide to write it down: How do I find my Jaxx 12-word backup phrase?

Next, use the following guides to restore your Jaxx wallet in your new Qadirah wallet with the Jaxx 12-word phrase:

  • How do I import my Jaxx wallet into Qadirah Web3 Wallet? (Only assets on supported networks will show)
  • How do I import my Jaxx wallet into Qadirah Desktop?
  • How do I import my Jaxx wallet into Qadirah Mobile?

After restoring your Jaxx wallet in a new Qadirah wallet, you can send your funds from the new Qadirah wallet to your existing Qadirah wallet.

  • For instructions on how to send funds from your new Qadirah wallet, visit: How do I send Bitcoin and other crypto out of Qadirah?
  • For instructions on how to receive funds in your existing Qadirah wallet, visit: How do I receive Bitcoin and other crypto in Qadirah?

And that’s it! You have now transferred your funds from your Jaxx wallet to Qadirah.

How do I transfer my Polkadot (DOT) from Jaxx to Qadirah?

In Jaxx, Polkadot (DOT) uses a different derivation path from Qadirah. Because of this, if you import your Jaxx 12-word backup phrase into Qadirah, you will not see your DOT.

However, it is possible to import your Jaxx 12-word backup phrase into another wallet that supports Polkadot (DOT), such as Nova, then send your DOT to Qadirah.

Nova is a third-party platform that is not affiliated with Qadirah. As such, Qadirah cannot guarantee the performance of its products/services or that the steps shown and the information provided will always be accurate.

First, download the Nova app on your mobile device: Download Nova.

Open Nova and tap Already have a wallet.

Then tap Mnemonic phrase.

Before entering your 12 words, tap on the Advanced settings icon in the top right corner.

Tap on the Substrate keypair crypto type drop-down menu.

From the list, select Edwards ed25519 (alternative).

Tap Apply.

a) Now enter your Jaxx 12-word backup phrase, b) give your wallet a name, then c) tap Continue.

Please be very careful with your 12-word secret recovery phrase and private keys, because they control access to your funds. Never share them with anyone, and only import them into platforms that you trust 100%. If you choose to import your 12-word phrase or private keys into a third-party platform, you do so at your own risk. Nova is a third-party platform that is not associated with Qadirah. As such, we cannot guarantee anything related to Nova’s terms, policies, performance, or security.

Create a pin code for your Nova wallet.

Re-enter your pin code to confirm it.

Tap on your Polkadot (DOT) wallet.

Tap Send.

Enter your Qadirah Polkadot (DOT) address.

For a guide on how to find your Polkadot (DOT) address in Qadirah, visit: How do I receive Bitcoin and other crypto in Qadirah?

a) Enter the amount you want to send. To send all of your Polkadot (DOT) to Qadirah, b) tap on Max.

If you are sending all your DOT, this will close your Nova DOT account. To confirm, tap Proceed.

Sending all of your DOT will close your account because all Polkadot addresses need to maintain a balance of more than 1 DOT to stay active. To learn more, visit: What is the Polkadot minimum balance?

Review the transaction details. To send your DOT to Qadirah, tap Confirm.

And you’re done! Your DOT will appear in your Qadirah wallet as soon as the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain.
